Mortalis Machina playing cards is where mortals meet the machine. A beautifully unique concept and delicately designed premium card deck with carefully refined details placed in a world’s first real mechanical box with dynamic opening and closing gear function made entirely of paper that is no larger than a standard deck of cards. Conceptualized and designed entirely by us at The Paper Gear Company for the past 3 years, we hope Mortalis Machina cards will be a deck you find worthy of being in your collection. This is a very limited execution and we will produce only 999 copies. Mortalis Machina card design is a themed design where mortals meet machines. The design contains many elements of steampunk which was a huge influence on this deck of cards from the beginning. Throughout the deck of cards, you’ll find intricate Victorian details mixed with baroque and gothic elemental designs. There is also a nice mix of fantasy and witchcraft added to the playing cards and box design. What was also important was that the design of this deck of cards needed to fit into the unique mechanical box we have developed ourselves for this project, so gears and gears are also added to the design concept. Each of the court cards and the 2 Jokers were designed very carefully and in great detail, which took us many rounds to get right where we wanted the deck.
